2017 was filled valuable opportunities and learning experiences. Most notably, it was the first time in my life I held one full-time job, instead of multiple part-time jobs! Through my entire journey, I have God to thank for guiding me and giving me the strength for my accomplishments and obstacles. While I won’t get too detailed, here are my highlights of 2017:
Alex and I welcomed the new year in Paris and loved every moment! Other trips in 2017 included: London, The White Mountains, Long Beach x2, LA, Antelope Canyon (Page), New York x2, multiple trips to the Phoenix area and Cancún.
I would say I have enjoyed the entire wedding planning process: Tara Leinen is our incredible photographer, I have the most amazing women as my bridesmaids and I’m also blessed to say I’ve had our families there to help with planning. The big day is nearly a month away before I get to marry the man I love!
As I mentioned earlier, this year was huge because I switched from a corporate career in retail and fashion in New York to a public relations career in Tucson. I loved both and have enjoyed working with multiple clients in my current public relations role at Strongpoint. Along the way, I was elected the vice president for Ad 2, a marketing and advertising young professionals group, and also chosen as the vice president of programming for the Red Shoe Society, a young professionals group that supports the Ronald McDonald House Charities board.
I always enjoy incorporating fitness goals because they enable me to test my strength mentally, physically and spiritually. In 2016, I did: my first full marathon, full half marathon, Olympic distance triathlon and first 100+ mi bike tour. I’m not sure why I decided to pursue all of those things in one year but it was fun! So in 2017, I did: a half marathon, 5K runs x2, biked up Mt. Lemmon and gained 7,000+ ft in elevation climb, ran a full marathon with my future in laws and crossed together, and finally did my first ever 70.3 Ironman.
When I look back as to where I started and ended 2017, I am astonished to see the growth of Happily Pink! I cannot thank you as my audience enough for engaging and following along. Your support means everything. I also enjoy following the lives of my audience and seeing what you’re up to. I thank those who chime in on my stories for tips or to those who I can help provide fitness or life advice. I am always here for you and always happy to help in whatever way I can. So out of the many events of the year for Happily Pink, here are some of my favorites…
I embraced the growth of 2017 and am excited to see what 2018 has in store! Whether you had a good year or bad year, I feel it is always a great year because that’s another year you had to live, another year to pursue life and another year to tell others how much you love them. Always make the most out of everything and you won’t be disappointed. Live Happily Pink and wear your rose-colored glasses!
