Summer 2019 with Loews Ventana Canyon and Lakeside Spa
A few weeks ago, Loews Ventana Canyon invited me to experience their summer spa specials to promote #GlobalWellnessDay at the Lakeside Spa. This sponsored post is one of my favorites because I was able to share it with one of my best friends, Shelby.
While it’s nice to go to the spa alone, I much prefer going with my girlfriends. At the very least, I would recommend booking a pedicure together. Or, surprise someone with a spa date!
Serenity Pool
One of my favorite parts of visiting the Lakeside Spa is the access to the adult-only Serenity Pool. As you may have guessed by the name, the Serenity Pool is in a much quieter atmosphere than the lively signature
pools. If you’re like me and constantly hungry, you’re able to order refreshments from the Pool Concierge. In addition to their signature Prickly Pear Lemonade, Loews treated provided an assortment of fresh fruit and awesome chips + guacamole.
After about an hour in the sun, we walked inside the Lakeside Spa for our first treatment: the Sonoran Desert Pedicure. Since I had a body treatment after the pedicure, I decided to step into the steam room to open up the pores to my skin.
Lakeside Spa Treatments
With the Sonoran Desert Pedicure ($78), you’re immediately welcomed with your choice of margarita or lemonade. Since we were now inside and out of the heat, I chose a margarita because Loews and the Flying V, one of their onsite restaurants, are well-known for their tequila selections!
Shannon and Jackie were the two gals who took care of us. They’ve worked at the Lakeside Spa for over 10 years and were delightful! Shelby and I had too much fun with these ladies as we sipped on our margaritas and received our service.
The Sonoran Desert Pedicure is a fabulous treatment that begins with a foot soak, followed by general grooming (nails cleaned, trimmed and filed). My favorite part of the service was when our legs and feet were exfoliated with the Lemon Desert Verbena Scrub.
As a runner and gym-goer, I found the exfoliating massage to be incredibly relaxing. Afterwards, the feet are wrapped in hot towels to seal the moisture and treatment. Theeen the experience ends with your choice of OPI polish. I selected a sheer pink called “Passion.”
Before I knew it, it was time to head into the waiting room for my Citrus and Sage Body Treatment ($120). In the waiting room, the Lakeside Spa offered a selection of tea– I recommend the honey green tea. The room created a peaceful environment with the array of air plants.
Jennifer did my body treatment and created a relaxing atmosphere. She briefly explained the treatment to me and maintained the perfect levels of talking. Often when I’m receiving a service or doing a menu tasting, I love to ask questions! It’s the journalist in me that loves to discover the “why” and “how.”
Rejuvenating is the best word to describe this treatment. The citrus and sage create a refreshing body scrub, and the hydrating body butter is the perfect finish.
