UNITED Summer Ale Commemorates United Way’s Centennial, in Tucson, AZ
United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona announced a special beer brewed by Ten55 Brewing Company to commemorate the nonprofit’s 100th anniversary! On top of creating the tailored-brewed UNITED Summer Ale, Ten55 Brewing Company is donating a portion of the beer’s proceeds back to the nonprofit.
The UNITED Summer Ale is a light, crisp and a seasonal sipper with a slight spice. One of the key ingredients in the ale is the rare Grains of Paradise, a western African peppercorn that includes notes of ginger, cardamom, citrus, and juniper.
“When we first discussed the potential of this project late last year, my answer was ‘yes’ before any detail had been worked out,” said Chris Squires, managing partner of Ten55 Brewing Company. “I’ve long been a proponent of United Way and the critical catalyst role it plays, I’ve volunteered at their events, and I’ve seen the impact of their work in our community.”
From now to the end of summer, Ten55 Brewing Company will donate a portion of proceeds from the beer’s sales to United Way’s Community Impact Fund. United Way’s Community Impact Fund supports more than 230,000 residents in Tucson and Southern Arizona. Through programing, partnerships and collaborations, the fund focuses in areas of education, financial wellness and health communities.
“We’re honored that our friends at Ten55 Brewing Company have chosen to commemorate our 100th Anniversary in this creative way,” said Tony Penn, president and CEO of United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona.
Ten55 Brewing Company plans to roll out the UNITED Summer Ale to as many as 30 restaurants and bars across Tucson. The initial release will be available at Noble Hops, Tap & Bottle and Hop Shop.
