DO Snooze!

August 2, 2015

Snooze features delicious A.M. dining options in Colorado, Arizona, and California. What I enjoyed about their company was their commitment and value towards sustainability. They compost and recycle about 90% of their waste. Now onto the food!!

When they found it it was my birthday, they brought out a “birthday pancake” for me! It was the most delicious pancake that I ever had. It consisted of a buttermilk pancake with caramelized pineapple chunks covered with a housemade vanilla crème anglaise. I also normally don’t eat butter with anything but it came with cinnamon butter. The result? The exact flavor of upside pineapple cake! Yum!

They have quite a large assortment for breakfast, with variations of pancakes and eggs benedict. They even had a pancake flight, which Shelby ordered, and it came with three different pancakes of her choice (see photo above). Mo and I went with the eggs benedict. They give you the option to order two half orders as well; I decided to try the “Benny Goodman” and a gluten-free one with polenta. The plate came with the choice of salad or hashbrowns. I had the spinach salad, and Mo did the hashbrowns (see photo above).

My benedict choices: vegan (bottom left) and Benny Goodman (top right)

The gluten-free benedict featured flavorful polenta as the substitution for the bread. It was then topped with grilled asparagus, a poached egg, hollandaise, and gluten-free crumbs. I would order it again.  “Benny Goodman” featured lox on rye bread with cream cheese, then was topped with a poached egg and hollandaise sauce. This specific hollandaise sauce was cream cheese blended with sun dried tomatoes and caper relish. It was delicious until I found a hair in it. The kitchen was so polite and immediately replaced it (and comped my meal). I didn’t feel like having it again, so I opted for the the “Bella! Bella! Benny.”

Bella! Bella! Benny

The “Bella! Bella! Benny” was incredible and probably my favorite out of the three different benedicts! It consisted of ciabatta toast topped with savory prosciutto, Taleggio cheese, a poached egg, and cream cheese hollandaise sauce. Garnished with the benedict was arugula. The final touch was a drizzle of balsamic glaze.

Overall…
Expect great service and delicious food at Snooze.
Get two different types of benedicts.
Applaud them for their commitment to sustainability.
