When Alex and I planned our wedding at the Skyline Country Club we sought out a nearby resort to relax in afterwards. I quickly thought of the beautiful Westin La Paloma since it’s only a 5-10 min drive from the country club! They were also interested in partnering up with me to showcase our experience in their suite. Thanks to the Westin La Paloma for sponsoring my wedding weekend suite!
Saturday
As soon as we walked in, past midnight, we were greeted with a trail of rose petals that led to the bed. But what really caught my eye first was the adorable bride and groom chocolate covered strawberries with champagne! To be honest we were completely exhausted from the wedding so we decided to save the edible present for the next morning. The Westin La Paloma even included a congratulations note for us! I found it all incredibly thoughtful.
Sunday
We woke up as Mr. and Mrs. Moe and enjoyed the beautiful sunrise over the Catalinas that morning. Our suite at the Westin La Paloma included three balconies, all of which were spectacular views.
With such an experience, I decided now would be the perfect time to enjoy our champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. It was relaxing and the only sounds heard was the chirping of birds in the trees. We enjoyed our champagne and ate the strawberries off of one of the balconies. With the ability to be on our own schedule, we took our time getting ready in the spacious bathroom– the rain shower was perfect and makes me want one for my own shower ha ha.
During the morning, we treated our guests out to Top Golf to create an easier environment to talk to everyone. Upon returning back to the Westin, we relaxed in the large living room area of our suite. It felt incredible to have such a spacious room! For dinner we ventured out to the on-site restaurant Contigo, a South American and Spanish fusion restaurant. We picked tapas and ordered one of my favorite items from their menu: bacon-wrapped dates. Although we didn’t order anything to drink that evening, I would recommend anything from their wine list since it’s all quite good.
Monday
Alex took the day off and I didn’t have to go to work until later, which meant room service! We ordered the Huevo La Paloma and Cinnamon Brioche French Toast. Every time we stay at the Westin La Paloma, Alex loves to get the Huevo La Paloma! It’s what you get with a normal huevos rancheros, but it also comes with: tender carne asada, flour tortillas instead of corn and also panela cheese. The French toast included thick and fluffy slices of brioch toast with caramelized edges. The tart granny smith compote complemented the sweetness of the macerated strawberries.
Thank you again to the Westin La Paloma for sponsoring the stay for the most important weekend of my life! You made our stay perfectly relaxing.
